Poland is the largest e-commerce market in Central and Eastern Europe (Allegro alone has 15.3 million active buyers), and the site is centrally located for Germany, Czechia, Austria and Slovakia. You sell through your own shop and the marketplaces byrd is connected to, from the same stock. For markets further south-east, such as Romania, check transit times case by case. Yes, with planning. The site has 50,000 m², more than 50,000 pallet spaces, over 50 loading bays and around 1,000 staff, operating from 6am to 10pm. Your account manager agrees your peak capacity with you in advance instead of leaving it to November.

The Polish site stores products at ambient temperature and, beyond standard fulfilment, also handles dangerous goods, fragile and heavy items, and bottles. Temperature-controlled storage, organic certification and HACCP processes are not available in Poland. Food, supplements and organic products are handled by byrd's fulfilment centres in Germany and France, managed through the same account and the same dashboard.

Yes. Holding goods in a Polish warehouse requires a VAT registration in Poland, usually along with Intrastat reporting. byrd doesn't handle the registration itself but puts you in touch with experienced tax partners in Poland. For anything else that applies to your business, it's best to check with your tax adviser.

Storage, pick & pack and goods-in cost you less per order in Poland than from a German warehouse. How much less depends on your volume and product mix. That's why byrd prepares a tailored quote based on your actual volumes.

Within Poland, byrd ships with DHL and GLS, including their parcel locker and pick-up point networks. Shipments to the other EU markets and the UK go with GLS, and to Germany with DHL. As the UK is not part of the EU, shipments to the UK require customs paperwork, which merchants handle themselves.

Orders placed by 5:30pm (local time) are picked, packed and handed to the carrier the same day. To the rest of the EU and the UK, byrd ships with GLS on its standard delivery times. To Germany, byrd ships with DHL: transit takes a bit longer than from a German warehouse, and your customers get DHL tracking. Within the EU there are no customs formalities and no border delays.
